About PetsCareWiki

Building the most trusted pet health and care encyclopedia on the web.

Our Mission

PetsCareWiki exists to give pet owners clear, accurate, source-backed answers to the questions they ask most — "Can my dog eat this?", "Why is my cat behaving like that?", "Which breed fits my family?". We believe pet owners deserve the same quality of information that veterinary professionals consult, translated into language anyone can act on.

We are not a marketplace. We do not sell pet food, medication, or insurance. Our only product is reliable information, and our incentive is simple: if readers trust us, they come back, share our articles, and recommend us to friends. Every editorial decision we make is filtered through that lens.

What We Cover

Our Editorial Approach

Pet health information is consequential. A wrong answer on chocolate toxicity or onion poisoning can cost a life. That is why every article on PetsCareWiki goes through a documented process: research against primary veterinary sources (AVMA, AAHA, ASPCA, VCA, peer-reviewed journals), drafting by a content specialist, and review by our veterinary advisory board before publication. Articles are re-checked at least once per year, and immediately when new clinical guidance is published.

Read the full editorial standards for details on sourcing, fact-checking, reviewer credentials, and our correction policy.

Our Veterinary Advisory Board

PetsCareWiki content is reviewed by a veterinary advisory board composed of practicing veterinarians and veterinary nurses with experience across companion animal medicine, emergency care, and small-animal nutrition. They check claims against current clinical practice, flag outdated guidance, and sign off on every health-related article before it goes live.

What We Are Not

PetsCareWiki is an educational reference. It is not a substitute for a consultation with a licensed veterinarian. If your pet is showing signs of illness, injury, or poisoning, contact your veterinarian or the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center (888-426-4435) immediately. See our medical disclaimer for full details.

Independence & Funding

PetsCareWiki is supported by advertising (primarily contextual ads served by Google AdSense). We do not accept payment for editorial coverage, do not publish sponsored content disguised as articles, and do not allow advertisers to influence what we write or how we write it. Affiliate relationships, if any, are disclosed on the article where they appear.
